Since November 2025, I have been working as a PhD candidate in the research department under the supervision of Prof. Dr. med. Michael Kaess, PD Dr. Corinna Reichl, Dr. phil. Giulia Rinaldi and Dr. phil. Christian Hertel.
Broadly, my PhD project investigates suicidal behaviour in young people, with a particular focus on suicide attempts. Using network analysis, we examine how a range of risk factors for suicide attempts are systemically interconnected, how they can be grouped, and how these network structures differ from other clinical populations, e.g. individuals experiencing suicidal ideation. Furthermore, we investigate whether machine learning approaches can improve the identification of high-risk groups and the prospective prediction of suicide attempts using structured clinical and validated data. Finally, we aim to conduct a systematic review synthesising the current evidence on digital suicide prevention interventions in Europe and to complement this evidence with expertise from suicide researchers.
Beyond the primary focus of my PhD project on suicide research, I am also interested in a broad range of other clinical and non-clinical topics. Among others, these include affective and psychotic disorders, personality pathology, psychotherapy research, as well as social, theoretical, and political psychology (e.g., research on authoritarianism and philosophy of science).
