Sports and Lifestyle Psychiatry

The Sports and Lifestyle Psychiatry Research Group seeks to advance two complementary and rapidly evolving domains at the intersection of psychiatry, sports medicine, and lifestyle science.

The first is sports psychiatry, with the dual aim of advancing the field as a distinct clinical and scientific discipline and of promoting mental health in competitive and elite sport through evidence-based approaches to prevention, assessment, and treatment of mental health symptoms and disorders.

The second is lifestyle psychiatry, focused on strengthening the evidence base for lifestyle interventions and their effective integration into psychiatric practice and mental health care.

Through interdisciplinary research and the translation and implementation of evidence into clinical practice, the research group aims to advance the scientific and clinical foundations of both fields and to foster a more comprehensive, preventive, and personalized approach to mental health and psychiatric care.
